I hate e-readers. They scare me because I never want them to take precedent over hard-copy books. In spite of that, I am considering breaking my own rule and buying one. But not to read digital books! Only to buy ridiculously expensive magazines like Locus, which is nearly USD100 for 12 copies of the actual magazine, or half that price for digital copies.
I’ve never been a big magazine reader. My exception is frankie magazine, because they are so damn expensive and I finish reading them in one sitting.
I’d still feel like a traitor to my bookshelf, though. I feel like I’d have to explain myself to my books and reassure them that I’m not replacing them.
